You may have heard of the ‘Laptop Lifestyle’ before. Well, what exactly is it, and is it real? I have just come back from a trip with my family (and laptop) and found out.
I recently took a little time off from my 9-to-5 to travel down the coast to visit my brother.
Although I was also having a rest from my marketing business, I wanted to keep an eye on my advertising campaigns to make sure that all was well.
You may have heard of the laptop lifestyle, which is becoming a more popular term these days.
A laptop lifestyle is where you are able to run your own business from a laptop, and as long as you have an internet connection available, you are able to sync to the internet when required to have full access to your business and make changes as required.
This allows tremendous flexibility as you can imagine. You are no longer restricted by having to go to an office every day, whether that is a commute away, or even if you have an office at home.
There are many people within SFM that live the laptop lifestyle. Some are avid travellers who enjoy spending 50% or more of their time each year travelling around the world while still running their SFM marketing business.
So although I do not have the desire to travel that much, it certainly will be nice to have the flexibility in the future so that we can take family holidays whenever we desire.
Here was my first real chance to do that.
And it was as easy as it sounds.
The massive advances in technology in the recent years with the power of the internet, the SFM suite of business tools and all of the internet based marketing platforms make it very easy to run a business from just about anywhere in the world.
That gave me the flexibility to check on my business from the veranda and do any work that I wanted to.
