Lifestyle Upgrades: When Trying Just Is Not Good Enough

Let me give you two statements. “I will try to get a six pack”, and “I will get a six pack”.

They are both very close in construction but are hugely different in the amount of commitment that will be applied to them.

Using the word ‘try’ implies that you will reach the goal if it is not too difficult to achieve. It means that there is a limit to the amount of effort you are prepared to put into it.

The chance of you reaching the goal that you sate with a ‘try’ in it will be far lower than if you omit the word ‘try’ and commit to it fully.

You may have all of the best intentions to reach your goal but it will depend a lot on how much you want it.

If you want a six pack because you like the idea, or because you will think that it is cool, ask yourself how much effort you are prepared to put into getting one.

Will you get up early at least 3 times a week so you can hit the gym for an hour before work? And do that every week without fail?

If you want it enough, that should not be too hard. So saying “I will get a 6 pack in the next 6 months” should just roll off the tongue with confidence.

The same is true for my online business. I am not TRYING to build a successful online business, I AM building a successful online business and I will do whatever it takes to achieve that.

So I suggest that you remove ‘try’ from your vocabulary. Do not use it. If you catch yourself using that pointless, noncommittal, waste-of-energy word, just restate your sentence how it should be.

Trying is for losers. Anyone can try anything, but not everyone can actually achieve something that is difficult.

Keep that in mind and become a committed person. Committed to yourself and committed to others.

Make a difference in your world and in others by following through with your goals and make the world a better place.

Dream big and take action ๐Ÿ‘
